MILFORD ON SEA NEWSLETTER
St. Francis of Assisi and Our Lady of Lourdes Churches have a shared newsletter which will appear
on both pages. As this has been the custom for the last ten years we have decided to keep the tradition going.
It makes sense since we also share our Parish Priest, Fr. Gerrit Vervenne. To avoid confusion so that people don't arrive at the wrong church for particular events, New Milton will be presented in green while Milford will be in orange.
Special notices applying to both churches will be in brown. However, so that we can keep in touch with each other it would be nice if we read the green and the orange
as well as the brown!!!St. Francis of Assisi Church

PRAYER/REFLECTION
Sharing in the Lord’s ministry
Lord Jesus, touch our eyes
so that we may see the signs of your presence
in our lives and in our world.
Touch our ears so that we may hear your word.
Touch our tongues so that we may profess our faith.
Touch our hands so that we may give and receive.
Touch our feet so that we may walk in you paths.
Touch our minds so that we may understand your ways.
Touch our wills so that they may be in tune with your will.
Touch our hearts so that we may bring your love
to our brothers and sisters
to the glory and praise of God. AMEN.Our two Parishes have begun a project entitled Living Our Faith
You may have read about it in Portsmouth People. We are in the early organisational and preparation phase of the campaign. A few of your fellow parishioners have come forward to assist with this initiative (more are needed). In the coming weeks and months, you will continue to hear more about Living Our Faith. All parish members will be invited to participate as the campaign moves forward. I ask that if you receive a telephone call or letter regarding this initiative that you welcome a fellow parishioner into your home to discuss the importance of Living Our Faith for the future of our parishes and the Diocese. Please pray for the success of the endeavour in our parishes. I look forward to updating you on our progress in the coming weeks.

Please continue your generosity in this weekend’s SPECIAL COLLECTION.

READERS & EUCHARISTIC MINISTERS: The four parishes of the New Forest Pastoral Area (New Milton, Milford on Sea, Lymington & Brockenhurst) are arranging Days of Recollection for all Readers and Eucharistic Ministers on 9th October and 30th October next at St Dominic’s Priory. The days will be conducted by Fr Danny McAvoy, SMM and will be identical in their content. There are about 100 Readers and Eucharistic Ministers in the Pastoral Area – too many to accommodate at the Priory in one day. The plan is for all four parishes to mingle their attendance so we can all get to know each other better. So please put a note in your diaries now to reserve both days for the time being and we will advise which one to attend nearer the time.
ST PETER’S SCHOOL: Consultation – Admissions to St PETER’S SCHOOL in SEPTEMBER 2011. As required by new regulations, the Governing Body of St Peter’s School is conducting a consultation on its proposed Admissions Policy for the school year 2011-2012. The consultation period runs until 26th February 2010. A copy of the proposed Admissions Policy can be obtained from the School Office or downloaded from the School website. The draft Admissions Policy 2011/2012 is published at
www.st-peters.bournemouth.sch.uk and clicking on 'School Information' and 'Admissions'. Comments on the draft Policy should be sent to the Clerk to the Governing Body either by email to
clerk@st-peters.bournemouth.sch.uk or by post to the School by 26th February 2010. The Governing Body will consider all comments received before determining its decisions by 15th April 2010.FOUNDATION GOVERNOR VACANCY: Bishop Crispian, who has absolute discretion in the appointment of Foundation Governors, is seeking applications from committed baptised Catholics who are parents of children currently registered at the school. In addition to the legal responsibilities of the Governing Body, the Foundation Governors have a responsibility for preserving the religious character of the school, sustaining and developing the school as a Catholic educating community in accordance with Canon (Church) law and the teaching of the Catholic Church and giving clear witness, as individuals, and as a team, to the Gospel message and to the Church’s teaching. Appropriate training is available during the period of service. Lack of experience in education in a Catholic school should not deter anyone from applying if there is a genuine desire to serve the mission of the Church. Application packs are available from the Parish Priest, the School Office or from the Admin Officer, Department for Schools Governance, Park Place Pastoral Centre, Winchester Road, Wickham, PO17 5HA. Closing date for receipt of applications: 12 March 2010
